Worrying about grades is a vicious circle. Focusing on grades leads one to fixate on what one needs simply and practically to get a better grade as if it were a time sensitive thing to hold and possess. As grades do not improve this way, greater fixation on process rather than content makes one look for formulaic, simple solutions to another ever vexing problem, that of the increasing deficit of knowledge lost in the meantime. What is ignored are the nuances and depth of knowledge needed and what is avoided is the daily hard work, time, reading and persistence required to attain it.
